Financial help for your clients
It all begins with an idea. A client recognizing how adversity affects access to care. A client, despite being told she would be limited, utilizing her own agency.
A client, passionate about justice, becoming an advocate for others to afford their care.
If you are a provider who has clients who may be struggling to pay for their treatment, you are in the right place. We would like to help if we can.
It is the provider’s responsibility to assess whether the client is eligible to receive a donation. This allows for fair distribution and confidentiality. We ask providers to please consider the following:
A Just World is committed to a policy of non-discrimination, and equal opportunity for applicants without regard to race, color, sex, creed, political affiliation, marital status, sexual preference, national origin, physical or mental handicap, or age, and does not show partiality or grant special favor to any applicant or group of applicants. All scholarship applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and final determination will be made based upon your eligibility, and the availability of funds.
Does the client have insurance? If so, can they access a provider that is in-network or can they obtain a single case agreement for care? If so, donations may not be appropriate. As a provider we would ask you to do your part first in contracting with insurance companies or agree to a letter of agreement.
If your client has insurance, does the plan not cover services?
Or is the co-insurance or co-pay not affordable to the client?
Is the cost a deterrent to following through with care?
Does the client have financial hardship such as job loss?
Does the client qualify for MediCal but MediCal does not cover the services?
What other sources of income does client have?
social security income (SSI)?
child support?
temporary assistance for needy family program (TANF)?
Other funding such as trust funds, other non-profits?
Does the client meet the 2022 Poverty Guidelines?
